Asian bleeding-heart
The Asian bleeding-heart (scientific name: Lamprocapnos spectabilis) is a perennial flowering plant native to East Asia, including China, Japan, and Korea. It is also commonly known as the "Chinese bleeding-heart" or "Japanese bleeding-heart."
The plant gets its name from its distinctive flowers, which have heart-shaped pink or red petals with a white droplet-shaped tip that resembles a droplet of blood. The flowers bloom in the spring and early summer and are a popular ornamental plant in gardens and parks.
The Asian bleeding-heart prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It can grow up to 2-3 feet tall and wide and is easy to grow and care for. In traditional Chinese medicine, the plant has been used to treat various ailments, including joint pain and fever. However, it should be noted that the plant can be toxic if ingested, so caution should be taken when handling it.
